LIZA MINNELLI

LIZA MINNELLI   Sharon Sexton

Sharon  graduated from UCD's college of  drama with an MA in Directing for Theatre last year. Before this, she completed a degree in theatre studies at DIT's Conservatory of music  and drama, where she also studied classical singing and singing for musical theatre, graduating in 2003.

She co-founded Biscuits For Breakfast Theatre Company in 2004, where she has both produced and directed. An experienced actress and performer on stage and screen, Sharon specialises in musical theatre. Some credits to date include, Surfia in Lane productions national tour 07 of IKEANO, the title role in the Irish premiere of Jane Eyre- a musical  drama 2009 and Nancy in Festival production’s staging of  Oliver! 2009/10, Reno Sweeney in Anything Goes and Lucy in Jekyll and Hyde, both at the NCH.

Sharon is also an experienced voice teacher, facilitating musical theatre and singing in the adult full time course at the Gaiety School of Acting, Dublin and The Independent Theatre Workshop,Ranelagh. Sharon also teaches creative drama and speech and drama at Westside Stageschool, Lucan.

This is by far the most challenging role that Sharon has ever played to date and she is both terrified and delighted about “stepping out” in the shoes of such a musical icon!  She hopes that you enjoy watching her, even just a fraction of how much she has enjoyed watching Ms. Minnelli!
